We ALL make excuses... it is human nature to do that! But, we do not have to be controlled by our excuses! Here are the TOP 5 excuses us mommas (including me) make when it comes to health and fitness!
Excuse #1: I don’t have time to work out.
We all have every intention of working out! You are NOT alone! You get on a streak, but then one day you hit the snooze button a few too many times and before you knew it, it’s been a week. You need to make time! No one HAS time... we all have the same 24 hours per day to fit in everything we need to do, we just need to prioritize! Go to bed earlier. Get up 30 minutes early. Scroll Facebook while you are on the elliptical or treadmill instead of while you are sitting on the couch... you would be amazed how fast 30 minutes of FB scrolling goes by!! Workout while you’re watching your favorite TV show if you missed your morning workout. You can walk in place or on the treadmill or even lift weights. The bottom line is that you can make time, but you’ve been choosing not to!
A 30 minute workout is 2% of your entire day! You can DEFINITELY move a few things around to make time for 30 minutes!
Excuse #2: I don’t know what to do.
You don’t need to know what to do. There are plenty of workout videos and coaches like me who can help you find a fitness routine that works for you. Instead of looking for "quick fixes" or "fad diets" like the workouts and advertisements you find in Cosmo magazine or any other magazine like that, find a program that is the COMPLETE package that offers help in both fitness and nutrition to ENSURE you see results! Like one of my Challenge Packs. Don’t put fitness in the too-hard basket simply because you feel a bit overwhelmed when you start out. Do some research online and find a simple work out program that meets your needs. You do not have to be an expert to be healthy. There are people out there to help!
Excuse #3: I’m too out of shape.
I hear this a lot. I hear things like “I’m too fat”, “I have bad knees”, “I’m too old”, and the list of excuses goes on. Not true! Everyone starts somewhere and some people have more they want to achieve than others! We often limit ourselves mentally when our body is still up for the challenge. You might have to start slow and ease into a routine and possibly modify some exercises, but doing something is better than doing nothing and you are gradually getting yourself where you want to be and reaching your goals. Just do it! Do what you can and over time you WILL get better! It will never get easier you will get better! As long as you are giving YOUR 100%, that’s all that matters. You can do anything that you put your mind to!
Excuse #4: I don’t have the money.
You DO NOT need to spend a single dollar to get fit it you do not want to! You can find plenty of free or low cost alternatives that you can tailor to fit your needs. Need support? Follow me on Facebook! Message me! Interact with as many other people that are on the same journey as you that you can. << I have a FREE private group to help you get motivated, ask me about it! Everyone needs accountability! Body weight exercises don’t cost you anything, neither does walking or running.
Excuse #5: I like food too much.
Weight loss is 80% nutrition (what we eat) and 20% fitness (what we do). We are what we eat, right? Well, if you’re not giving up junk food then there’s no use working out. Right? Did you know that it takes just two weeks of a healthy, junk-free diet for your taste buds to forget the taste of junk food? Two weeks. You can survive two weeks without junk food. And don’t give up your fitness just because you’re struggling with your diet. Regularly working out will encourage you to ditch the bad diet – after all, do you really want to waste a grueling 45-minute spin class on a Snickers bar?
