There is a common misconception that ladies lifting wrights equals a result of looking like a man. Well, this is NOT TRUE! Weight bearing exercises are very healthy and beneficial for both men and women! There is a huge difference between lifting to tone and maintain healthy muscles, bones, and strengthen tendons and lifting to be a bodybuilder!
Not only is lifting weights healthy for you physically but if you are looking to lose a few pounds, weight lifting can help with that too. Lifting will allow you to burn more calories than you would otherwise and it increases your metabolic rate!
It is important to know what you are doing though, you do not want to injure yourself! Please do your research or contact a certified personal trainer to assist you.
You will not get "huge" from a normal weight lifting regimen. So, get to liftin'!
